About SSC
Staff Selection Commission abbreviated generally as SSC is an organisation which is headed and managed by the Government of India. SSC is an independent body which is authorised to recruit the candidates for the Group B posts in the various departments of Ministries and its Sub ordinates. It is totally managed by the chairman which is equivalent to the post of an Additional Secretary to the Government of India. It recruits the candidates in a pay scale of 9300 to 34800 with an additional grade pay of 4200. The functions of the SSC Commissions are to make sure of the peaceful recruitment through an open competitive examination for the Group B posts followed by an interview. It also recruits the candidates for various posts time to time in the Grade C and Grade D, such as various statistical Investigator, stenographers and Lower Division clerical cadre in various departments and ministries.
